What is MESH?

We cover KS3 National Curriculum Maths, English, Science and History

During the lockdown period, parents  were requesting that we provide an online course for Year 6 to 9 students. At the present moment we have begun the process of teaching MESH online for our Year 6 to 8 students. From September 2022, we will commence the Year 9 classes.

What are your timings?

Year 6- Tues and Thurs-     6pm to 7pm

Year 7-
Tues and Thurs-     7pm to 8pm

Year 8- Mon and Wed-        7pm to 8pm

Year 9- (PRE GCSE)             From September 2022

Why is it important?

Many students are behind in their studies, the pandemic has created backward steps in every student's academic journey. We cover the essential aspects of each syllabus. Our aim is to prepare a strong solid foundation, so that our students are well-prepared for their GCSE's.

How do you teach?

We teach using the webex platform, Mr Patel uses an online whiteboard as well as his own studio whiteboard. As the classes are taught, we encourage students to take detailed notes.  After each session, we encourage all our students to email their notes to Mr Patel. One of the main skills that need to be grasped is the art of note taking and revision. Mr Patel emphasises this skill at every class, it is essential that our students are expert at recording the essence of every topic. We also test our students regularly by using quizziz. This platform allows us to tailor our questions to meet the needs of our students. Note taking must be parralled with testing, otherwise how do we reinforce our learning?

Do you give homework?

All we ask is that the students submit their weekly notes to Mr Patel.
We ask that they revise by reviewing their notes and watching the recorded videos.

Why is it online?

We are facing an uncertain future due to the current pandemic, by providing live classes online you save the hassle of dropping your kids to the tutoring centre, your kids can study in the safety of their home. No time wasting!

What are the timings per week?

2 hours a week, two separate hourly slots
30 minutes for each subject

Do you teach during the holidays?

No, we have breaks during all school holidays

Why year 7 to 9?

Mr Patel who teaches the classes, has experience with KS3 subjects. These formative secondary years are vital for a student's preparation for Year 10/11. If a student completes the Year 7 to 9 online classes, they will feel confident to embark on their GCSE's in Maths, Science, English and History. Mr Patel has a very busy work schedule teaching students currently from year 4 to Year 8. From next year he will teach year 9 students. This is convenient for his schedule and his abilities.

Why History?

History is about life experiences of nations, societies and famous individuals. We can develop our character, by learning from the experiences of the past. Mr Patel has a deep passion to instill character values and personal development skills to his students.
